Šli bi v Anglijo, kam?
Poigravam se z mislijo, da bi naslednje poletje šli na dopust v Anglijo. Verjetno enkrat v juliju (ne maram vročine, tam je verjetno takrat veliko znosneje kot tu). Za kakšen teden ali dva.
Zaenkrat si začenjam oblikovati preference. Šli bi torej v Anglijo, ne škotski ali irski del, Ne v London ali kakšno ogromno mesto (London bi si šli samo pogledat za dan ali dva). Zanima me angleška zgodovina, podeželje, take reči. Ne arhitektura ali likovna umetnost, bolj književnost, ljudje, pokrajina, način življenja, tradicija. Tudi monarhija.
Mi ve kdo svetovati kakšno izhodiščno točko, kakšno prijetno mestece za bivanje, kakšne zanimivosti, ki sodijo v zgoraj opisano?
Windsor je lustno majhno mesto. Windsorski grad je kraljicina primarna rezidenca, in si ga lahko ogledate. Boste videli staro utrdbo, sobo, kjer se je zacel veliki pozar pred kakimi 20 leti. In ko ste ze tam, lahko skocite to Eton college v blizini, da vidite klasicno izzobrazevalno ustanovo.
Potem pa nadaljujete na SZ proti Stratford upon Avon, Shakespearov rojstni kraj, kjer boste mogoce zvedeli o teorijah, da so bili drugi ljudje resnicni avtorji njihove literature.
Naprej na JZ pojdite v Cornwall, kjer ima prebivalstvo dosti spanske primesi. Stonehenge bi bil lahko znimiv, a ne mores vec cisto zraven kamnov.
Ce greste v Bath, boste zvedeli kaj o zgodovini Rimljanov v Angliji. Lake district je narodni park in bi bil tudi vreden ogleda.

Samuel Johnson’s House (London; tel. 020/7353-3745): The backwater at 17 Gough Sq., situated on the north side of Fleet Street, was Johnson’s home from 1748 to 1759. Here he worked on his Rambler essays and his dictionary, and here his beloved wife, “Tetty,” died in 1752.
Keats House (London; tel. 020/7435-2062): Most of the poet’s brief life was spent in London, where he was born in 1795 in a livery stable run by his father. He moved to Hampstead in 1817 and met his fiancée, Fanny Brawne, there. In this house, he coughed blood into his handkerchief. “That drop of blood is my death warrant,” he said. “I must die.” He left for Rome in 1820 and died there a year later.
Jane Austen Country: The author of Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility wrote of rural delights and a civilized society — set mainly in her beloved Hampshire. In 1809, she moved with her mother to Chawton, 80km (50 miles) south of Bath, where she lived until 1817. Her house is now a museum. Her novels Persuasion and Northanger Abbey are associated with the city of Bath, where she visited frequently in her youth and lived from 1801 to 1806. In her final year, she moved to 8 College St., in Winchester. She is buried in Winchester Cathedral.
Stratford-upon-Avon (Warwickshire): The folks who live in touristy Stratford gleefully peddle Shakespeare’s literary legacy, including his birthplace, where the son of a glover was born on April 23, 1564. Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, in the hamlet of Shottery, is also popular; Shakespeare married Hathaway when he was only 18 years old.
Sherwood Forest (East Midlands): You won’t find Errol Flynn in Technicolor-green tights gallivanting through a forest of mighty oaks with his band of merry men. Although most of the forest has been open grassland since the 14th century, it lives on in legend, literature, and lore as the most famous woodland in the world. At the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre at Edwinstowe, the world of Friar Tuck and Little John lives on.
Grasmere (The Lake District): William Wordsworth lived here with his sister, Dorothy, who commented on the “domestic slip of mountain” behind their home, Dove Cottage. The cottage itself is now part of the Wordsworth Museum, displaying manuscripts and memorabilia. The poet also lived for a time at nearby Rydal Mount, just north of Ambleside (one of his descendants still owns the property), where you can see gardens landscaped by the poet. Throughout the region, you’ll find the landscapes that inspired this giant of English romanticism, including the shores of Ullswater, where Wordsworth saw his famous “host of golden daffodils.”
Haworth (West Yorkshire): Second only to Stratford-upon-Avon as a major literary pilgrimage site is the home of the Brontë Parsonage Museum. Here the famous Brontë sisters lived and spun their web of romance. Emily wrote Wuthering Heights, Charlotte wrote Jane Eyre and Villette, and even Anne wrote two novels, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Agnes Grey, though neither measures up to her sisters’ works.

Cornwall, Dartmoor… Lahko gres Plymouth pogledat in okolico. Drugac pa odvisno kaj te zanima. Lahko gres tudi na drugi konec Birmingham, Manchester Ali pa na jug Porthsmouth, Brighton, Southampton ima tako kot Plymouth zgodovino ladij nekaj je tudi v Porthsmouth-u recimo kitajski zvon v parku. Titanik je leta 1912 med drugim pobiral ljudi tudi v Southamptonu, Britannic prav tako zgrajen v Belfastu. Kot so ze rekli tudi okolica Londona in mogoce se City of London zgodovinsko, ker imajo zanimivo zgodovino. Sicer pa povsod se najde kaj zgodovinskega imas tudi muzeje v Londonu:British museum, London museum kjer imas zgodovinske stvari: puscice, funt ipd. imajo tudi zeleznicarske muzeje in v uporabi stare vlake za turiste, ce te zanima letalstvo se tudi kaj najde, zivalske parke: recimo volkovi itd. Malo idej ostalo pa pobrskaj. Cisto na hitro 😉
Sheffield, okolica zlo lepa, nacionalni park, obvezno Devonshire (je blizu), tam zivi vojvoda… Potem je mestece Bakewell, znan po Bakwell pudding- veliko Britancev hodi tja na dopuste… 1 ura z vlakom je iz Sheffield-a do Manchastera, je veliko mesto, veliko vidis… Znan Sheffields-ki gozd, kjer se je Robin Hood stepel z Little Johnom, tudi grob od Little Johna je v blizini, lepo ga ohranjajo….
Bi si morda omislili Irsko? Cork je prelep, morski levi pridejo vn na plazo, skacejo not… Zeeeelooo lepo…. Sin od Walta Disney-a ma tam hiso… Se splaca vidit…
Pa, ce te monarhija zanima poleg nastetega od drugih se Hyde park (blizu Kensingtona, ki je tudi zanimiv arhitekturno) in mogoce kraljeva rezidenca. Zraven Hyde parka je tudi Royal Albert hall. V Hyde parku je tudi spomenik princesi Diani (res lep vodni del parka) Seveda pa tudi Buckingham palace, Tower of London… London si na hitro lahko ogledas tudi z ladje.:)
Ko boste pa v Londonu, si pa oglejte Tower of London. Poleg draguljev in drugih zanimivosti, se prestejte krokarje. Ti cuvajo kraljevino pred propadom. Ko jih ne bo vec, bo glede na izrocilo, kraljevina propadla. Imajo celo svoje malo pokopalisce.
Pa Harrods na Cromwell Street je tudi zanimiv, kjer vidite, kaksne stvari ta bogati kupujejo.
In ce greste maja, je Chelsea Garden Show v Londonu (najvecja vrtnarska razstava na svetu) tudi zanimiv, ampak morate karte kupiti vec mesecev vnaprej.
Lodon Museum v starem Londonu ima pa maketo Londonskega velikega pozara leta 1666 ali enkrat takrat.
