S.M.A.R.T pomeni Self-Monitoring, Analyses, and Reporting Technology.

To pomeni, da ta tehnologija omogoča predvidevanje na podlagi določenih
indicev, kdaj se ti bo trdi disk pokvari – po domače crknil.

Iz teh podatkov je razvidno koliko bo njegova življenska doba, koliko časa
je že delal in vse podrobne podatke o disku.
